Bet on natural beverages for the holiday season

07/12/2022

Natural beverage brands are striving to follow market trends, focused on promoting the healthiness of different foods. With the holiday season approaching, now is the time to rethink your own manufacturing formula and adopt a more organic model!

In the search for consumer preference and greater sales performance, small, medium, and large-size companies gradually leave aside artificial ingredients and invest in natural inputs.

This concern opens up the possibility of qualifying the list of ingredients of current products and creating lines of beverages with a healthier appeal, aimed at a sophisticated audience.

Moreover, a reformulation can broaden the positioning of the brand, entering into less competitive and interesting niches.

Why bet on natural beverages for the holiday season?

Whether with or without alcohol, natural beverages/drinks are among the main items consumed during the holidays. Allied with this, the new year also becomes an interesting commercial window, above all with items related to healthiness.

Today, there are already studies reinforcing the interest of the Brazilian market in healthier items. In the case of beverages and drinks, information is rarer, but past research reinforces the demand for organic refreshments and cocktails.

According to the Organic Promotion Association (Organis), Brazil has registered a 63% increase in organic food and beverages during 2020 in a direct comparison with the previous year.

This data attests there is a search for more natural foods and beverages. Even during the pandemic, the increasing scenario brings an optimistic expectation for the coming years.

Another useful research, this time focused on the natural beverages industry, was released in 2015.

At the time, Euromonitor has shown that organic beverage sales grew 8.6% in 2015 in Brazil. The increase is above the global average, as the research itself indicates.

Other relevant information from Euromonitor shows that healthy beverages, that is, without alcohol content, increased by 18.7% in the same year.

This means there is a potential for the market to have reached 12 billion dollars in 2020.

How Can Manufacturers Develop Natural Beverages?

The supply of natural beverages becomes increasingly real in the beverage and cocktail industry. This is because there is an effort to rethink formulas already used, especially in drinks and refreshments that have artificial fruits and other additives in their composition.

Many brands of refreshments use artificial extracts, aromas, and colorings to get closer to a specific fruit. With each new intervention, the beverage becomes more distant from its natural condition.

Fortunately, small, medium, and large-size beverage manufacturers are willing to reduce the additives used during production, given the market and public appeal.

It is worth highlighting dry extracts and fruit powders among the new options to make beverages more natural, both to give real flavor to beverages with or without alcohol and to sweeten them.

Frootiva® Co has lines of dry extracts and fruit powders, which can be used in the manufacture of different types of beverages.
